26-29 March 2012 - Planet Under Pressure Conference 2012, London, UK. Based on the latest scientific evidence, the London Planet Under Pressure conference will provide a comprehensive update of our knowledge of the Earth system and the pressure our planet is now under. The London conference will focus the scientific community’s and the wider world’s attention on climate, ecological degradation, human well-being, planetary thresholds, food security, energy, governance across scales and poverty alleviation.

22-27 April 2012 - IPY 2012 Conference: From Knowledge to Action, Montreal, Canada. The IPY 2012 Conference is the final event of International Polar Year 2007 - 2008. This conference will provide an opportunity to apply and disseminate the knowledge and scientific results from IPY from around the world and focus on next steps.

15-19 May 2012 - 2nd ICES/PICES/IOC International Symposium, Yeosu, Korea. This symposium will discuss the many issues of the role of climate change on the oceans including sea level rise, changes in thermo-haline ocean circulation, acidification, oligotrophy of temperate seas, changes in species abundance, distribution and phenology, loss of biodiversity, all of which will have serious implications for marine living resources.

16-25 July 2012 - XXXII SCAR Open Science Conference, Portland, Oregon, USA. The conference will focus on SCAR science and providing advice to policy makers. Plenary sessions will focus on the themes of Antarctic Conservation Challenges in a Century of Change, Past, Present and Future Climate Evolution, and Evolution and Biodiversity in Antarctica and will followed by the normal parallel sessions.
