The ICED Steering Committee was appointed by IMBER and GLOBEC and consists of a broad representation both in fields of expertise and geographical location. The SSC is currently chaired by Eugene Murphy of the British Antarctic Survey.
The institutes currently involved in the ICED programme are those with which the participants from the launch workshop are affiliated and those involved in ICED-IPY. These include many leading polar research institutes and groups. As the programme develops the number of institutes involved with ICED will increase.
ICED currently comprises the participants from the launch workshop all of whom are involved in the drafting of the ICED Science Plan, and those involved in ICED-IPY. However, as ICED is still in its early stages, it is envisaged that the number of participants will expand as the programme develops. For further information on becoming involved with ICED please contact Rachel Cavanagh at the British Antarctic Survey where the ICED programme office is hosted.
